This little piggy cried…

Peace and happy Sunday Divine! I hope you’re super charged and ready to champ the week ahead 🙂

As I was collecting Sun rays on this glorious day, my thoughts led me to the Root Chakra healing I am presently flowing through. When I think of the Root Chakra,
I think of:

-plant roots snug in the ground

-the foundation a home is built on

-tires of a car

and

-our wonderfully amazing feet !!

Without roots, plants can not grow. Without a foundation, a house will crumble. Without tires, a car cannot move. Without our feet, we cannot stand.
This month, I am focusing on sharing with you all, simple ways of connecting with the Root Chakra. For the week ahead, I feel a need to focus on the Feet. They are our Roots! From the moment you wake up, to the time you go to sleep, your feet are putting in work. It is only fitting that at the end(or beginning) of the day, you spend some time showing them some love and gratitude.

Here are few easy ways to love on your feet this week:

1. (5-10) minutes of Legs Up the Wall(Viparita Karani)- This yoga pose is exactly how it sounds. Back flat on the floor(supported by folded blankets/pillow/bolster), and legs vertical against the wall. I LOVE this pose for many reasons. It is a restorative pose, meaning it gives you a moment to slow down, and really open your body through passive stretching. The floor(or props) are supporting your body, so all you have to do is relax into the stretch. Peep the video linked above for a more in-depth expression of how the Asana(pose) is done.

Benefits of Legs Up the Wall:

reduces edema(swelling) in the legs and feet. The reverse gravitational flow, can help to move any stuck or stagnant fluids that may build up(if you have low blood pressure), or spend a lot of time on your feet.
relieves tired leg muscles by draining tension from the legs, feet, and hips(if you have your hips elevated on a block).
gives you all the benefits of inversions(heart over head poses), such as regulating blood pressure, moving stuck fluids, reversing the effects of gravity on the whole system, and improving digestion.
great for your Nervous System(important for those with nervous disorders). When combined with slow, intentional breathing, Legs up the Wall activates your “rest and digest” nervous response. In this state, your body will be actively digesting anything you have eaten, as well as working to heal and repair your body
helps to quiet the mind. By fully releasing and relaxing your body and by focusing on deep breathing, you will evoke a meditative state.

2. Foot Soak + Massage/Reflexology– There are a plethora of benefits to soaking and massaging your feet. Doing so regularly, promotes physiological wellness(normal human functioning), as well as your physical health. Plus, your feet will love you!

Benefits of Foot Soaks + Massage/Reflexology:

-improves circulation
-helps in relaxation
-promotes better sleep
-relieves body aches
-improves mood and fights depression
-alleviates edema(swelling) in the legs and feet

A simple foot soak, can be made using:
1:1 epsom salts and baking soda
(4) drops of lavender EO(calming)
(4) drops of peppermint EO(stimulates circulation)
*add black tourmaline to your soak for extra grounding energy*

Combine your ingredients together in warm water(either in the tub or in a small basin), and allow your feet to soak for 15-20 minutes. Finish with a soothing massage using an oil/butter of your choice. Peep the video linked above, for a quick reflexology massage to try at home.
I hope this week’s guidance helps to open doors, and keeps you grounded through the week ahead. We’re blessed with a powerful partial lunar eclipse + Full Moon in Capricorn, July 16-17, 2019. For readings or personal rituals, connect with my Services via the website 🙂

Give thanks for our energy shared. May you remember love is within and around you always.

All is love

Kai
